Africa Topic

Discussion in 'Primary' started by nicbrown99, Apr 9, 2012.

  1. Hi, I have been asked to teach Africa as a topic for the next half term and have been given free rein to choose any country or angle I like. It's a Yr 5 class and my second placement on a PGCE course. It's such a vast topic I am having trouble knowing where to start - which country should I choose? Can anyone suggest any countries to look at and point me in the direction of any schemes of work that I could adapt? The class teacher has suggested a contrasting study between the local village and an African location as part of the topic.

    Any ideas welcome!

    Thanks.

  5. Thanks for the sites. That's really useful. I think I just need to choose a country and get on with it now!
