    I do agree but in fairness in my particular example the summer school enabled me to get my hands on some money to but 5 decent video cameras for the department so I would have done it anyway, also one of my kids will go for free and donating my fee on top of all that seemed a nice thing to do. However, it is a one off and I don't intend to make a habit of it:)
    We do that. all our old kit goes on if we think it has any value, servers, webcams, obselete backup storage. It's not a big money spinner but does give us a little bit of room to trade in old kit for "new" via ebay
    Running networks for small local organisations is however something we believe ICT departments up and down the country could get out and about to do. Certainly we are looking to expand in this area.
