I’m new literacy coordinator for an infant school - so eyfs & ks1 only. Head has just said to me in so many words - our data is ****. What are you going to do about it? Give me your action plan by Wednesday. Data is worrying. With about 80% leaving Reception with Good Level of Development, but Year 1 data shows less 60% enter y2 at Expected in reading & writing. I’m thinking consistent, quality phonics is the answer. What would you do? What should I look at? Fairly average levels of SEN & PP for the area. Where can I find latest good practice? What could so consider? Please help. I feel like I’ve been given mission impossible & i’m On my own.
