Advice on salary starting point

    Depends what you plan on teaching! For Primary you would be lucky to get anything higher than M1, supply far outstrips demand! For Secondary it would depends on the subject, there are still shortages in some areas so you might be able to negotiate a higher start.

    Did you not teach for one year in Britain before going abroad ? If so you will be on M2 at least.If not,then must likely on M1.
  3. If you went to teach abroad after your PGCE and didn't complete your NQT then you'll most likely start on M1, regardless of your experience unless you can show that you have something more to offer or you are in a shortage subject. I started on M3 outer London as a Chemistry and Biology specialist, but we had a Physics NQT start this year and he's only on M1.
