    I think, frankly, that any Head appointing a temporary member of staff for things such as maternity recognises that there is always a risk that they'll leave in favour of a permanent post. And who could blame you?
    I'm sure they'll be able to find someone else for September, when they'll be starting a new timetable anyway.
    Do what is right for you!
