Advice - maternity cover part time and supply

Thanks for the reply. i agree it would've been much easier if I'd been employed directly from the start, unfortunately I've been providing cover for the same person who is going on maternity (and hasn't been in school at all this academic year) on longterm/ongoing sickness, and other permanent staff who work at the school have wrangled some extra days for themselves out of the situation, hence it only being a part time post (in a weird job sharing situation). I think it must work out cheaper for the school to have me on their books rather than via the agency because of the new legislation. All red tape and the school wanting to 'trial' me I suppose!
