    Hi all,
I've had a cough since before christmas- it has been terrible and to top it off I coughed so much I lost my voice.. I can't speak with a coughing fit and my throat hurts like hell.
Doctor has signed me off for 2 weeks as I have a chest infection.
I am however really worried as I am not sure about how taking this much time off will affect me financially- I would like to go back as soon as I can speak again.
I have a full time permanent class teacher post- will my wage be cut?

Unless you have only very recently started working, no.

  3. Just go back to your doctor when you are ready and s/he will sign you as fit for work, or check on your sick note whether they have circled the bit at the bottom that says 'I will/will not need to see the person again' (paraphrasing!)
