Try a company specialising in compatible but cheaper cartridges, maybe via eBay, and see what they say about the effectiveness of the chips on their cartridges, or e-mail them and ask.

  2. You may have to buy a chip re-setting tool. They are inexpensive bits of plastic which (in theory) clip on the chip and reset it to its OEM settings.
I would google chip resetting tool for your cartridge.

Thanks all. I'll let you know how I get on.

  4. Can't you get your department to invest in a couple of Advent printers that use Kodak cartridges? ;¬))

  5. Hello,
I have had the same problem as you, i changed the chip over and all ok but i have the same problem as you did and it keeps telling me the cartridge is empty. I was wondering if you found a way to either reset the chip or to get the printer to accept the Kodak cartridge with the Advent chip in it.

    Any advice most welcome

    Thanks
