As an NQT you should have the equivalent of nearly a full day off timetable. First of all they allocate 10% PPA, which all teachers get. You then get a further 10% reduction , making about 19% reduction overall. Most schools would allocate that in Primary as a complete day off to allow for one supply teacher to take your place. It could be two afternoons or a morning and afternoon of different days. Based on what they have scheduled, which sounds too little, check out whether they intend to be sending you on any courses before making a stand on the issue. Also, whether they intend to give you the missing time in pre-arranged blocks at other more random times. To be absolutely sure of your facts when dealing with this matter, get an idea of the contact time and PPA time of non SLT teachers at the school. Your contact time should be 10% less than theirs.
