A play that can be performed in the style of Artaud for Edexcel AS unit 2

Discussion in 'Drama and performing arts' started by sugerplum, Jan 18, 2010.

  1. hey, I have been asked to direct a scripted play in the style of Artaud. I am aware that most plays could be adapted to suit this style, however i am looking for a play that lends itself to the style. The AS pupils i teach are very talented so Im looking for something with alot of scope. Has anyone had any experience of this that was successful? Does anyone know any good plays?
    Any suggestions?
  2. You can do some great stuff with Martin Crimp plays - both Attempts on her Life and Face to Wall have proven successful for me.
  3. sarah kane's play 4.48 psychosis, fit for any size group, any gender mix, theatre of the oppressed for the 21st century.
  4. I've done Marat/Sade in the style of Artaud if you're interested.........[IMG]
