I know that in our distorted form of democracy we are most unlikely to have a peoples charter (or bill of rights) but if we could what would you choose to have written into it and why?

Seeing Americans argue over the right to bear arms, I wouldn't write anything into it for fear of idiots misinterpreting years later.

So you would not include the right to bear arms.
Idiots abound no matter what, why let them dictate to you?

The USA doesn't have the right to bear arms. It has the right to a well regulated militia. The rest is in support of this goal.

Why don't you ask Obama why he lets idiots dictate to him over gun control?

    What difference will it make?

Go over there and say that.

I am not in a position to do so.
I believe that in most states there are gun controls, it is a matter of enforcement where it falls down.

None whatsoever, I thought it might arouse conversation, that is all.

I did and have... you disagree?

    Well done. (sincerely)
I disagree with us here in the UK passing judgement on the US laws and practices, it really is none of our business.

We seem keen to adopt traits and customs from other countries... and in some cases we seem keen to impose our values and views on other countries.

So I'm content to pass judgement on US laws, as I am on laws in Uganda or Russia which I feel are silly or unjust. I don't think any government is above criticism.

So how are they interfering in our internal affairs?
