Hi all, I know this may not be the correct place for this but just looking for urgent help or any contacts to support a charity so close to my heart...The North Staffs Special Adventure Playground

The North Staffs Special Adventure Playground opened it's doors in 1989 and has been a life-line to hundreds of children and young people with a disability and their families ever since. The site is unique with a large outdoor area, soft play room, craft area and fully accessible facilities. However, it is the fantastic young people and their families that make the Playground special, along with it's long-standing and passionate staff team. It is extremely distressing to learn that this extremely well-regarded and frankly, indescribable place is facing immediate closure.

The Playground provides essential respite, club, holiday playscheme and family sessions to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities. At sessions children can enjoy a huge range of activities, develop their social skills and meet new people in a safe environment, no matter what their needs may be.

The closure of the Playground would be devastating to all involved. Many vulnerable children would lose a fun, supportive and safe place to go to develop their social skills, parents would lose well-needed respite, parents and siblings would lose a place to meet and support each other and for some members, they will lose part of their routine that has been in place for nearly 20 years!

To remain open, the charity is likely to need substantial funding or donation to give time to access or raise more funds whilst still providing a service to it's members. The charity will close by the end of the month if funds are not found. Everybody who attends the playground is desperate for a solution. Please Help!

Have you applied for lottery funding? What about local businesses? Rotary Club? Have you got the support of you local MP?

I have a special connection to North Staffs, and will lobby your MP. Good luck.
