    Hi all,

I am head of French in my school and we are currently using AQA for the A level exams.
We so like it but having had a look at the Edexcel specification, the themes seem more interesting and relevant to the students, and we prefer the choices of books/films too.
I would love to hear what you think of the course if you teach it, especially in terms of the difficulty level, the focus on translation, the resources that are available for support in teaching it, etc...
    Thank you very much.

Have you consulted this page: https://www.aqa.org.uk/resources/languages/as-and-a-level/french/plan/switching-to-aqa-from-edexcel
This explains the difference between A-Level AQA and EdExcel.
The choice of films and texts is very similar but I found the questions for the essay much more difficult as they would require a deeper understanding of the book and its aims. Have a look for yourself at the A-Level Past Paper from 2018: https://qualifications.pearson.com/.../2016/Exam-materials/9FR0_02_que_20180621.pdf

May I ask you what makes you potentially consider switching to EdExcel?
