    M-i-L had hearing aids a couple of weeks ago after many, many years of being very hard of hearing. She was super resistant to the idea, despite all of us telling her she needed them. At last she can hear normal conversations and is amazed at what sounds she can now hear. The only sadness is that she didn't have them last year when my som got married as she didn't hear one word of the marriage service.
