A boy ejaculated in my class today!

Discussion in 'Personal' started by Misscynic, Sep 19, 2007.

  1. Sorry about the graphic post! I wanted to attract as many opinions as possible. I work in SEN. I teach a boy who has major problems with his sex drive. Most of the day he is erect and masturbating. He is 15 and very well developed for his age. He used to only ********** in the toilets but now does it in the classroom. Yesterday and today, he ejaculated in front of other pupils. Staff left to clean it up. I have reported it, complained about it, recorded it, contacted the union, met with the HT to express my concerns for staff and pupils(he sometimes grabs them between the legs). Each year, my authority reminds me of the 'child protection act', is this not in contravention of the act? Head does not seem to appreciate the severity of what is happening. He can also be violent (last term, he pulled a huge lump of hair out of his teachers head, leaving a bald spot. (went to police about this).
Union have been excellent and are dealing with it in order to support staff but nothing happens quickly. In the meantime, I am having to deal with this on a daily basis. What do you all think? Because he is special needs, should we just put up with it? head does not want to suspend him as she feels it is not in the boy's best interest. What about ours?

  3. !!!

    !!!

    ugh!!!

  4. Are you in a special school or SEN in mainstream? I had a friend who was a nurse, who did sessions in local special schools about sexuality and one of the things she did was 'inappropriate masturbation', using picture cards, makaton and so on. Maybe there is a similarly experienced nurse linked to your school you can call on?

  5. And I thought I'd had a bad day.

I too work in SEN and well when I made a complaint about violent child I was told I would have to get used to being hit, bit and kicked. Know thats no comfort but I do understand how frustrating it can be not to be listened too.

  7. Another friend who taught in a special school bought a new car.

Unfortunately one of the boys liked shiny things.

I mean, REALLY liked shiny things.

*And you thought turning your windscreen wipers on with a squashed bug there was messy*

  8. health and safety laws would prevent teachers from cleaning up any bodily fluids.

I can't remember who exactly is meant to do it though.

  9. I wouldn't think it acceptable even if they are SEN. And if the by is violent when you try to assert authority and discipline then maybe it is not the best place for him.

  10. Is this ebd?
Don't know what advice to give, but he really does need someone external to talk through the inappropriateness of his actions.

  11. That's awful, you seem to have done all you can to no avail.Did the union say you have to teach him?

  12. I used to work in a 'special school' and it was fairly common place for some individuals.

I really think that it is a case of like it or lump it. That's why they are not in mainstream school

  13. Hi webfoot, I'm in a special school. We have a nurse, we tried the sex education, the symbols, the rewards etc. We've tried ignoring him when he is doing it, we've removed the class, removed him (hard, when he is 'hard' and on the floor with his legs over his head. He has good understanding, he knows what he is doing, he just can't refrain. Yesterday he 'came' and one hour later, he was doing it again. the other pupils are suffering because of him, a lesson can take half an hour to start because we are trying to deal with him.

  14. I think there comes a point when a person's "special needs" cannot be catered for, no matter how strong the desire for integration.

The boy is not fit for decent company, regardless of how "innocent" (ugh) his actions.

    That is so gross.

    Gross

    Gross

  15. well you can always utilise him in a constructive way for example when you run out of PVA glue? :)

  16. Completely agree with buntycat.

    yuck!!!

  17. You work in SEN therefore I am assuming you have some specialist training.
The boy has known sexual problems therefore I assume that the problem has been discussed at multi-disciplinary reviews.

Have there been no protocols put in place to reflect and deal with this problem?

  18. Hello madwoman!

Like it or lump it? And what will we do if he manages to get hold of one of our teenage girls and impregnates her? I am used to dealing with children who **********, half of our kids do it at one time or another. This boy has the body of a man, absolutely 'huge' down below. If you had a daughter, would you like her in this boy's class?
Surely, even you must agree that there is a point where we do not have to deal with this. Besides which, what about the boy? we are obviously not meeting his needs? I've only told you half the details, the rest is just too ugh!

In truth, 50 years ago such a teenager would have been in a psychiatric hospital, and to be frank, it sounds as though he needs that level of care.

Rediculous SEN placed or not, to have to deal with such behaviour.

  20. wot Bauble said :)
