3D insects ideas please (UKS2)

Discussion in 'Art and design' started by La Mariposa, Jun 5, 2011.

  1. Hi, has anyone got any ideas/tips for me. I want to make some large insects that can hang from the ceiling with my Y5 class. I am thinking of using wire (what type?) and papier mache to make them then painting/adding finishes touches afterwards. Has anyone done this and does it work? Do you think it's a good idea to do observational drawings first? I was thinking that a dragon fly, a butterfly,a bee and a spider might work? How many children would you advise working on 1 model? Any other ideas? Many thanks.
