A glorious sunset appearing unexpectedly amongst the clouds after a week of well nigh constant miserable rain.

Going for a walk on the beach earlier in the day despite the miserable rain.

It's not rained for at least 5 hours!

    1. My 4 month old finally realised that he can bounce in his jumperoo, which caused him to have the most wonderful giggle fit ever.

    2. My 4 year old asked me if we could have an adult conversation, and when I asked what she wanted to talk about she replied "what's the meaning of life?"

    3. My eldest came back today after a week away with his dad looking more tanned, grown up and gorgeous than ever.

    A very kid-focused day today :)

    1. Thinking about how I got a big fat cheque from the good old taxman!

    2. Eating a take away meal for tea tonight (because this doesn't happen often)!

    3. My new memory foam V pillow as night times will be more comfortable for me now (very important because I have a chronic back condition).

    1. A lovely day at work with some of my favourite colleagues.
    2. Realising I don't resent working on Sundays, like I did in teaching.
    3. Seeing a very down long term patient who gets no visitors, coming back smiling from Easter service.
    4. The lovely surprise easter egg my OH bought me.
    5. Watching the dramatic thunderstorm.
I know that's more than 3, but it really was an unexpectedly nice day.

The most amazing sky. It was like someone had drawn a line down the sky, painted one side blue with fluffy clouds and the other side dark grey.

My husband and daughter managing a whole day without snarking at each other.

    Chocolate. Rather a lot!

    1) The look on the woman's face in the supermarket after I informed her how rude she was. (see 3 things that got on your nerves thread)

    2) Car passed it's MOT - it's a 62 plate so it jolly well should, but I do high mileage and you never know with these things.

    3) My nephew who rung me up to thank me for his birthday money (7 years old). I asked him what he was going to spend it on, and he said 'Well that's the thing! I just really don't know!.' :)

    1. Talking to potential A level students this morning. I met a very determined young lady with a clear vision of what she wants to achieve. I think she was a bit misguided about the route she would take. It was good to be able to provide what I hope were useful suggestions.
    2. Really tasty lunch provided at work.
    3. Lovely long walk with two of my dogs through the forest. It was cold but now we are snuggled with the log burner going.

    2. My 4-year-old rubbing my face lovingly, staring deep into my eyes then whispering..."you are very fat." :D
    3. I got a Waterstones giftcard for my birthday and I fully intend to spend it. On myself. Without spending a single penny on anyone else for a change.
