We do a song drawing the shapes in the air. 'Draw a square in the air, in the air, draw a square in the air, in the air. Draw a square in the air draw it here draw it there, draw a square in the air in the air.' Or the feely bag song. 'Feely bag feely bag whats inside? Whats the shape you try to hide? Is it a cube or cuboid, pyrimid or sphere? Whats the shape we want to here!'

Hello kangel, you could try these sites for 2D:

It's worth buying "Tom Thumb's Musical Maths" (pub. A&C Black). That's got loads of useful songs in.

Circle

Round and round the circle,

Draw one in the air,

Stop, look, find one,

Circles are everywhere.

(tune: round and round the garden like a teddy bear)

Triangle

Tri-an-gle, tri-an-gle,

It isn't a circle, it isn't a square,

You can see triangles everywhere,

You can even hear if you listen with care,

A triangle.

(tune: three blind mice)

Square

Find four corners, find four corners,

Sides the same,sides the same,

Put them all together, put them all together,

Square's my name,square's my name.

(tune: Frere Jacques)

Oblong

Four corners has an oblong,

It has four straight sides too,

The sides are not the same though -

Two long, two short it's true.

(tune: my hat it has 3 corners)

Mystery Bag - 2d Shapes

Mystery bag, what's inside?

What's the shape you try to hide?

It's a circle, oblong, triangle or square.

Find the shape, describe what's there.

Mystery Bag - 3d Shapes

Mystery bag, what's inside?

What's the shape you try to hide?

It's a cube or cuboid, cylinder or sphere,

What is it? We want to hear!

(tune:This old man)
