    I'm not sure on this....

If a student fails this year's GCSE paper and has to resit in college (as a condition of entry), will they resit a paper based on the current syllabus?

Or will they meet the new one?

Or is the answer "it depends on when the resit is"?

    Thanks.

There will be a 1MA0 (and 2MB01) retake opportunity in November 2016. There have been no details of whether June 2017 will see another opportunity. It could be possible to have one with a "resit only" condition placed by the exam board. In either case, it is more pressing than usual for schools (or students) to ensure they get a C this summer.

The Government has a consultation on this - if anyone feels strongly, the deadline for responses is Feb 2nd.
