1998 Optional writing test - Year 5 - Mark scheme & level thresholds

Discussion in 'Primary' started by kate_keith, Oct 22, 2009.

  1. Helllllp!!!
Can anyone help me with a copy of the mark scheme and level thresholds for the year 5 'Day of the Turtles' WRITING papers - I have been able to get the papers themselves, but no luck with the mark scheme or level thresholds, which is very frustrating!! The short writing is 'raising money for turtle conservation' and the longer paper is 'an amazing discovery' short story. Aaargh..!
Hope someone out there can help [IMG]

I can't help out directly. But any idea which year the test was an actual SAt? there's a school somewhere that has examples of past pepers with mark schemes bu would need to know year.

  3. Thanks - it was an official 'optional SATs' paper from 1998, for year 5. Any help would be gratetfully appreciated!!

They dont (sorry wont accept apostrophes!) go back that far, sorry! But the mark scheme would have moved on since that time anyway.
I suggest you find a recent one plus something like the Ros Wilson criteria to assess the level.

Additional criteria for 'High Level 5' and 'Just below Level 3' are

  9. Hi everyone got a favour to ask. Saw this blog and it happens to be discussing a piece of unit I am going to be planning, however my dilemma, I've lost the fact sheets! Would anyone be able to put up or email me (sahanara_b@hotmail.com) a copy of the turtle conservation fact sheet (the one that puts the task into context) please. My school doesn't have testbase anymore so I won't be able to get a copy through it.

    Thanks alot,
    Sahanara

  10. I have the paper, is there any way you could e-mail the mark scheme to me at rpatterson3@sky.com , thanks

  11. Hello there,
I know this post is from a little while ago but I would really appreciate if someone could send me the mark scheme.
    h_osull@hotmail.com

    Many thanks.

  12. I have the mark scheme. If you still need it, email me at emmaschubert767@hotmail.com and I will send it you. I myself need the level threshold. Have emailed it to the last two posters.

  13. As about 4 people have emailed me about this i've decided to post them on TES in the resources section. All being well it should be available after 7:15pm on 3rd March 2012, as it takes 60 minutes to appear.
Hope this helps a lot of Year 5 teachers! I know how frustrating it can be not to have a mark scheme and level thresholds for a test. Both are included on my resource.
