    Ian McEwan's 'Saturday' features the protagonist shopping for and then assembling bouillabaisse. In McEwan's typical, precise style, the assembly runs over several pages, all in borderline scientific detail. Great stuff.

    Interesting list. Proust's madeleines were always going to be there!

    Recently read the barbecue scene in The Slap. Fabulous food but the company would have turned my stomach.
